Hamm at The Hamilton Behind the camera award (2011)

November 7, 2011 – Hamilton hosted the 5th annual Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards last night at the Conga Room in Los Angeles. The awards ceremony, co-hosted by Niche Media’s Los Angeles Confidential magazine, paid tribute to the brilliant behind-the-scenes talents whose individual work has contributed to the quality of a motion picture or television series and to the lasting impression that it has left on movie and television audiences.
Isaiah Mustafa hosted the awards with presentations by an elite list of A-list actors, actresses and award-winning filmmakers including Harrison Ford, Robert Pattinson, Jon Hamm, Michael Bay, Antonio Banderas, Viola Davis, Jon Favreau, JJ Abrams and others who recently worked with the honorees.

“Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm, who plays Sterling Cooper’s Don Draper, thanked costume designer Janie Bryant for giving his character a level of dimension that he could not create himself and cited the monogrammed “D” on his belts as an example of how Bryant shades in his character with fine detail. “No one has ever seen it nor will they. There will never be a tight shot of my belt buckle,” said Hamm. “But Janie chose the right one.”
