Huh ! well ! well !

 troll  and Barbara  Streissand effect....

answer :

I wonder why he hasn't really had a career since Mad Men ended. He was sexy as hell on that show, and one would think he could easily be leading man material in movies. He's a good actor and I don't think I've ever read that he was difficult to work with or any sort of diva-like persona. What's your guess?

I loved Mad Men, but I never thought he was a great actor. His character was extremely guarded and closed, so he never really had scenes that had a lot of range. And if you play what you know, the alcoholism of Don was not a stretch for him. It's kind of amazing when you compare his post MM career to Elizabeth Moss.

He worked in the role of Don Draper because he came across as shallow and empty, almost entirely devoid of real feeling. Which absolutely worked for a story about a hollow man in a shallow profession, but that slick blankness doesn't work in many other roles, unless he wants to spend his career playing "Mr. Wrong" in romantic comedies.
Plus, his looks have faded to the point where other actors are getting the "Mr. Wrong" calls.

He only has one thing going for him and it is not his face, body or talent.

He is very attractive and well received by the entertainment press. For his career to have stalled the way it has suggests that he has an unusually nasty personality, even by the standards of showbiz. The story from college is telling, yes people can change but not as drastically as we might want to believe

So, about Jon Hamm...DL hates him, right ? He does indeed sound like a dick. And yes, he has a nice one, but I mean it in the pejorative sense.

I used to think he was the ultimate daddy type, but now I'm like ... maybe not.

Yeah, Hamm is a drunken asshole, but everyone here would do him anyway.

He is (or was) objectively attractive, but he never did if for me. He pings my douche-dar too much.

You know you bitches would still drop to your knees in a heart beat.
I don''t think Jon Hamm is all that. There, I said it.

OMG, [R4]! I thought I was the only one. Especially talent-wise. I think the supporting cast (except January Jones)have more talent than Hamm. Which is not to say he's no good, he just shouldn't be the only one singled out for accolades.

Met him in person at the DNC in Denver. He's a drunken douchebag. Go figure.

He's supposed to be a real douchebag. Really full of himself now that he's somewhat famous.

He has bland Sears catalog model good looks and limited range. He's Bruce Boxleitner: The Next Generation.

Hamm often looks a millimeter away from breaking into gay-face. No way is he straight.
But he's very fun to watch and generally does a great job in the role. I think it's the thin lips. Repressed WASPS need to be played by thin-lipped men.

Is Jon Hamm gay ? Except for a longtime beard, there seems to be no romantic connections with women.

He's hot as fuck, but not gay.

I never thought he was gay, but it's a little odd that he hasn't really dated anyone since breaking up with his ex. I'm sure he wants to play the field after that, but most people would still be seen in company of the same woman more than once.

I don’t think he’s that hot but he does set off my gaydar.
Sometimes my gaydar is thrown off by intellectuals, narcissists and the English, though.

He's 48, never been married and has no children. Rather odd for a man in Hollywood.

Hamm is not gay, but if he is, so what? He's a handsome, hot hunk who seems like a nice guy. Everyone has different needs and desires, so lack of romantic liaisons is irrelevant. The same has been rumored of Dolly Parton.

Of course he’s gay. But he’s deeply closeted. He’s very conflicted.
I  don't think he's gay.
I only ever found him attractive as Don Draper in a suit and even that has faded in rewatching. Don't find his non-Draper appearance appealing at all. I get a major asshole vibe from him and I find his lack of upper lip off putting, Clooney suffers from the same No Upper Lip Syndrome.
Rise & Fall: Jon Hamm
I suffer from secondhand embarrassment.. meaning I get super uncomfortable when I see someone IRL or on tv mortifying themselves. Soooo you can imagine how I felt watching Jon Hamm in his latest commercial, advertising food delivery services in Canada for Skip the Dishes.
Many would argue his acting range is limited at best. Don Draper was one note... albeit a gorgeous, wooden note. His performance was revered thanks in some part to the strength of the entire cast. The fact Thad he’s sexy AF didn’t hurt. Not to mention he’s rumored to be hung like a horse.
His post Mad Men career was already beginning to look bleak (the slick ex-fuck-buddy character in Bridesmaids was hardly inspired) but there is something SO SAD about seeing that gorgeous man hawking food delivery services. He even had to become an honorary Canadian to do it (we’ll take him!)
So this is a call for a director or talent agent who may be reading this, maybe someone from HBO or Netflix or some Indie (porn) Director .... can’t we drum up a little something more for Jon? After all, he has that giant snake to feed and house and it ain’t cheap!

It could be that he's making bank while he can. He may be smart rather than desperate. Celebrity has a shelf life.

What else is he got to do? Do movies that no one ever sees.

I think he's got a decent range--he can do serious and comedy, but he's a TV actor, he doesn't really pop in movies. Booze is clearly an issue and he doesn't have the brains that George Clooney has. Clooney doesn't have a huge range, but he knows how to pick a script. Hamm just seems to kind of wait for some not-too-taxing part to come along and then does it. I thought he was good in Good Omens, but it was hardly a challenging part. Same thing with Kimmy Schmidt.
I saw John Hamm last night .And boy is he a handsome man. He's also a sharp dresser and seems keenly aware of how good he looks in said clothes. I was at an after party for the Cedar Rapids movie premiere in NYC. It was at this place that used to be called Country on Madison and 29th. The cast was there, which was cool. But I was shocked to spot Hamm and a couple of other hotties, including Josh Lucas and ALex Lindqvist, just hanging out.

Jon Hamm and his woman. We don't they procreate? You can't waste genes like his...and she's 41!!!

Hamm must be shooting blanks. Otherwise, any woman dating him this long would have hooked herself to 21 years of child support payments.
Jon Hamm''s look. He looks like he has quite a bit of American Indian blood in him. What do you think, fellow DLers?
Jon Hamm's porn past "I knew I could wait tables anywhere in the world"So why didn't you?
Is it plausible a man with his prodigious endowment only "dressed sets" on porn shoots? I've seen countless pornos where you only see the penis of some young stud- never the face.

Uggh. It's 2020.
Does anyone still desire/care about Jon Hamm?

"dressing sets" could be code for working as a fluffer.
Jon Hamm is only 39? I would have guessed 44 or 45.
Reasons why Jon Hamm is a closeted homosexual. What's yours?
Sorry for any grammatical errors ... these are my reasons. What are yours, if you think Jon Hamm is closeted?
1. Jon Hamm's constantly gay friendly. I mean CONSTANTLY when it comes to those in showbiz. 2. Jon Hamm apparently never dated in high school... that and he's been kind of reclusive about it when chatting about his love life when he was in HS. 3. He feels quite comfortable in Tom Ford and AROUND Tom Ford. Since 2010. (Google it) 4. He attempts to have a career in comedy ... which might be an added crutch for an insecure closeted man in show biz...instead of constantly play tough guy roles. And by comedy, the guy is miserable at it (insecurity issues showing through?) 5. He's constantly subservient around people in his business as in "Where ever you need me; glad to help!" Not saying gays are subservient ... just being closeted might cause added insecurity. 6. His pretend girlfriend of nearly 20 years is known to be "bi sexual" in certain circles of NYC. 7. He's always ingratiating or compensating himself in interviews to shield his insecurities ... and in order to look less threatening or arrogant. 8. He constantly works with people who are sort of lower class, mediocre, misfit like in terms of beauty, toughness, edginess .... he's worked exclusively with the Tina Fey ilk. She's considerably popular, but sort of as a tame, luke warm, unattractive woman who's very tame in comedy and not so "bitchy". In my opinion, Fey is not strong or "triple threat" in any of the things she's done in her career. Zach Galisomething is a great comedy actor, but seems sort of tame to be around with in my op. 9. Jon Hamm typically takes pics with fans in a very endearing way ... in almost like a motherly or sisterly expression. 10. Jon Hamm is known to keep very short and distant friendships with high profile, straight male actors, but is very comfortable around non threatening type women. That's all I have for now...just my three cents....please don't kill me if you don't agree.

Hamm dated Sarah Clarke in high school.
Big dicked heartthrob Jon Hamm drops controlling botoxed Jessica Westfeldt!!!
Bitch's "Kissing Jessica Stein" always offended me. I'm having dating issues so I'll just go gay....She had it coming!!!
Oh Damn. Jon Hamm has ALWAY been Handsome . Here is a youth photo and Hamm today. No one should look that good.
This is so unlike me to notice, and even more unlike me to post this, but anyhoo... I saw The Town today. It's pretty good. Last act of the movie, Blake Lively (doing a terrible Charlestown accent) is in a hospital bed. Jon Hamm walks in the room. The shot carries him from his knees to his head. Huge package. Huge. He's clearly wearing boxers and 'dresses to the left' as my tailor says. I'm not even a Jon Hamm fan and thought he was just OK in the movie. But dayum. The boy is packing.

Jon Hamm: Your film career won't be happening . Thank you for playing and so long.

Jon Hamm Completes Rehab Stint For Alcohol Abuse . It was just announced that Jon Hamm has completed a 30-day rehab program for alcohol abuse. The 44-year-old actor decided to check into rehab at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Conn. at the end of February, right before the premiere of the final season of his hit show Mad Men.

So when I saw John Hamm and Jimmy Fallon play the Ambiguously Gay Duo by Robert Smigel...I wondered if they were trying to tell us something.

FYI: Jon Hamm''s NOT gay.
I just heard him on Fresh Air with Terry Gross and when she asked him about dating in high school it sounded as if he didn't want to talk about it.
He basically said he was a late bloomer, not cool, and kind of weird. He made it sound as if girls did NOT like him.
If he were gay, he would've bragged about how popular he was with the girls, how he was jock of the universe...blah...blah...blah. -
Although, he certainly looks as if he would've been popular with the girls. Maybe he graduated with mostly lesbians.

Jon Hamm Will Never Escape Don Draper, Will He?
He'll always find work. But I don't think he will ever have the career some of us imagined.
He has a few movie projects lined up, but they sound pretty unexciting. He's not even the lead in a few of them. He can always guest star on KIMMIE SCHMIDT or get voice over work. But he'll never be the A lister. At just 45, he's aging badly. That is a HARD 45.

Jon Hamm at the "Baby Driver" Premiere . DON'T LOOK AT THE HAMMACONDA!!!!

Does he still have a career? His bulge is the only thing keeping him in the press.

Jon Hamm was a psycho frat boy at UT-Austin. Mad Men star Jon Hamm's secret college bullying shame has been exposed by court documents unearthed from the actor's time at the University of Texas at Austin.
According to shocking arrest warrants and summons seen by Star magazine, the 44-year-old Golden Globe winner allegedly set fire to one pledge after viciously beating him and using a claw hammer to drag him by his genitals during a hazing ritual gone wrong.

He's pissed off someone, for this and the rehab story to come out the same time as the final season.
And I have to say (as the child and sibling of alcoholics) absolutely TYPICAL for an alcoholic to blame external factors for making them drink. No, Jon, it isn't the role that has made you rich and which you play as a professional actor, that made you a drunk. You did that all by yourself.

I saw JON HAMM and other cast members last night. Jealous bitches??
AMC and Lionsgate hosted a screening last evening with a Q & A panel and a cocktail reception after. Matt Weiner and all of the cast attended. Sal Romano and the 2 other young guys (can't think of their names) sat in the audience but the major/main characters were on stage for the Q & A. Now here's where it gets interesting. EXCEPT for Jon Hamm and Christina Hendricks everyone was exceptionally tiny in varied ways. John Slattery is SHORT, I mean 5'4" short, Vincent (pete campbell) was very THIN, so much so he looked elfin. He was wearing a light beige suit, with a pair of boots (odd choice).

I want Jon Hamm & Chris Meloni in my mangina at the same time. What two celebs would you like in your mussy simultaneously?

band Belle and Sebastian
In 2015, what did stage-invading actor Jon Hamm put in your mouth during Belle and Sebastian’s Bonnaroo Festival set in Tennessee?
“I have a vague recollection it was a jelly baby? Or sweetie of some description?”
CORRECT. He fed you Gummy Bears.
“I was standing with him and Zach Galifianakis watching a band and they said: ‘OK, we’re coming over to watch you guys next’. The next thing I knew, they were watching us and the two Sarahs were knock-kneed (Laughs) – they were in absolute puddles. They act cool until someone like Jon Hamm is around and then they hide behind you like children and can’t speak.”

During the panel for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming animated series Invincible at CCXP Worlds, Robert Kirkman’s series announced several high-profile voice cast additions. They include Oscar winner Mahershala Ali as Titan, Clancy Brown as Damien Darkblood, Nicole Byer as Vanessa & Fiona, Jeffrey Donovan as Machine Head, Jonathan Groff as Rick Sheridan, Emmy winner Jon Hamm as Steve, Djimon Hounsou as Martian Emperor, and Ezra Miller as D.A. Sinclair. The eight-episode, hour-long animated series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories in 2021.

Based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by The Walking Dead creator Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an adult animated superhero show that revolves around seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man . But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Have you been binge-watching shows?” Fallon asked Samberg.
What we actually binge-watched, finally, was Mad Men,” Samberg revealed.“I had never seen it,” he continued.
“The one with Hamm, our friend,” Samberg added as Fallon appeared to be shocked.
Fallon, however, also admitted having watched the first seasons and the last part of the show, without knowing what happens in between.
It’s one of the best shows ever made, almost,” Samberg joked. "I’ve been friendly with him for a long time and it’s never come up,” Samberg said of Hamm.
“I don’t think it’s ever come up with me either,” Fallon said.
But it is weird cause he hosted SNL at least twice while I was there, maybe three times,” Samberg said. “We did a bunch of Mad Men sketches, I did like, a Mad Men spoof at the Emmys when I hosted it,” Samberg continued. “I definitely have been living in plain sight as a person acting like they’ve seen Mad Men.”

Andy Samberg Apologized to Jon Hamm for Never Watching Mad Men

"...let me tell you something about about mushroom tea, it's not my thing ok I went to Dave Chapelle's to do some comedy I got pressured into drinking the tea, now I'm gonna tell you I don' t do drugs it's not my thing I don't do drugs but I said ok I'm gonna drink this tea since every body else is and I drank it and Jon Hamm was there and as Jon Hamm is talking he started to look like Phylicia Rashad..."

Nation starts GoFundMe for Jon Hamm so he doesn’t have to do any more Skip The Dishes ads
OTTAWA – The nation of Canada has come together to raise money for struggling actor Jon Hamm so he doesn’t need to do any more of those god awful Skip The Dishes ads.
I know there are probably more worthy causes to donate to than a guy who already makes millions of dollars a year,” said Aaron Speith of Kamloops as he confirmed his $50 donation. “But this will help so many Canadians.”
At the end of the day it’s not about him. It’s about us being able to turn on the tv without living in fear of having to see the star of Mad Men do a skit about eating popcorn with hockey gloves on.”
The GoFundMe was started during the NHL and NBA playoffs when Canadians were forced to endure hours upon hours of Jon Hamm acting like an auctioneer, Jon Hamm taking selfies, and Jon Hamm thinking it would appeal to Canadians to do an over the top Canadian accent.
Honestly I couldn’t even watch Good Omens. I just kept expecting Jon Hamm to ask David Tenant to order him a poutine while really laying into the pronunciation of the word poutine,” said one Toronto resident.
The GoFundMe really took off on news that Skip The Dishes would start delivering alcohol, given the number of Jon Hamm as Don Draper ordering a bottle of Canadian Club ads the company was expected to make. It has already crossed the 2 million mark. Organizers expect to present the money to Hamm next month, in exchange for a blood oath that he will never do these ads again.
A representative for Hamm said the actor would be willing to accept the terms of the deal. “Honestly he doesn’t want to do those ads anymore anyway. Besides he has already lined up his next sponsor – he’s going to be the guy who sings the jingle in the Sleep Country Canada spots!”
A separate GoFundMe to raise money for the unknown actor who plays Hamm’s intern in those ads has only raised 30 bucks.

Gilmore Girls’ casting directors share their experience after 7 seasons on the show
It was difficult for the casting directors to find good romantic interests for Loreali
However, not all the parts on Gilmore Girls were such a joy to cast for....
“Nowadays, it’s everything’s much different … the climate has changed over the years,” the casting experts continued. One name in particular stood out from all their years attempting to cast a potential romantic partner for Graham on Gilmore. As shared on the podcast:
Before Gilmore Girls, I worked on a few other shows, and we kept bringing this guy in and he always got so close, and he would test for something, but he was always the second choice. But, I was like, ‘he’s so good, I love this guy, he’s good looking.’ And then, we finally brought him for Gilmore Girls, and he got cast.
The actor in question?
“That was Jon Hamm,” the casting director revealed. Hamm played a wealthy, handsome man that Lorelai meets at an auction. However, after they go on a date, she discovers him to be incredibly boring.
The funny part about that once he got Mad Men, everyone was like ‘Who’s this guy, where’s he been, Oh my God?’” the Gilmore alum explained. “And we were like, ‘he’s always been great, no one’s taken the chance.'”

8. Reflecting back on your own childhood, how closely does your life now resemble what you had dreamed for yourself when you were younger?
I’m alive, that’s a good thing [laughs]. When you lose your parents as young as I lost my parents…I don’t know. I’m sitting at my desk right now and looking at a picture of me and my dad from my graduation, and next to it is a picture of me and Jimmy Kimmel. It’s a very strange life, what I have. I’m very pleased with it and happy with where I am. Did I imagine I would be here? I don’t know. I imagined I’d be somewhere, but I’m happy with where I am.

9. Out of all the characters you’ve played in your career, which one do you identify with the most?
I don’t know if I “identify” in the sense that I think I am him or anything, but I think, obviously, because of the length and breadth and depth that I portrayed the character, I will certainly be identified as Don Draper as long as I live. That’s part of being on a television show as successful as it was, for as long as it was. It’s the better part of a decade that I played that character and, until something better comes along, it’s probably what people will keep pointing to. It’s better than the guy I played in Bridesmaids, so…

10. Do you feel like the book is closed on Mad Men? Or would you ever return as Don Draper in some kind of movie or reunion special?
I don’t necessarily see the point in continuing that story. It ended so beautifully and elegantly. I think that the world and the time has moved past that story. If anything, I’d watch a Joan series. I’d watch a Pete spinoff or something. I was so pleased with how Matthew [Weiner] ended the story, and I was so pleased with what we all did on that show. I think it’s nice to be able to put it to rest. I think part of the beauty of Mad Men is that it didn’t lend itself to spinoffs and it didn’t lend itself to prequels or sequels. It’s just a one-off story. It is what it is.

11. If you could live during any other time in history, which one would you pick?
The Paleolithic era, maybe. That sounds kind of fun. Sharpened sticks. Trying to figure out which berries are poisonous. I don’t know — as insane as it is now, I don’t think we’ve ever had it better. If I could go back in time and rejigger the world, I would probably go back to the Industrial Age and say, “We should be really careful about what we’re putting into the oceans and how much plastic we’re making, and we should rethink the nuclear situation.” But we have a pretty good life here on planet Earth. I think we need to understand that we’re all in it together a little more, and lean in towards cooperation and less towards tribalism. If we learn that lesson, maybe we can last another couple hundred years — fingers crossed anyway.

12. What are you most looking forward to in 2021?
The fact that it’s not 2020. I’ve had such positive thoughts for 2020 — “It’s 2020! Perfect vision! This one is going to be the best!” I remember thinking on New Year’s Eve, “This year is going to be the best.” And then it really turned out to not be the best. It turned out to be the worst. So all I can hope for, for 2021, is that it’s not 2020.
