Jon Hamm visits WAG-Qaumajuq while filming series
WAG-Qaumajuq tells CTV News that Jon Hamm dropped by the gallery with several crew members one weekend just before the winter holidays.
“It was an amazing experience to give them a tour. I felt really grateful to have had the opportunity,” said Colleen Leduc, the facility’s education and programs coordinator, noting they had a heads-up the actor would be dropping by.
“He mentioned he always likes to go to the art galleries in the cities and the communities that he’s filming in, if he gets a chance.”

During the tour, Hamm told Leduc he was “really close” to his best friend’s mother growing up—an artist who taught him an appreciation for her craft.
“He was really thinking about her a lot and sharing that as we were going through the gallery,” she told CTV News Tuesday afternoon.
“He also expressed that he really wanted to learn a lot about the history of Canada and understand more about the land that he was filming on, which I thought was really lovely.”
Leduc said Hamm’s manager, Connie Tavel, was also there during the tour and had a friend’s artwork on display in the gallery’s Staycation exhibit.
“That was a really special part of the visit as well… and her getting to share about her friend,” she said. “I learned a lot about the artist who made the artwork from Connie, and she just was overwhelmed seeing the artwork.”
As for the series that Hamm was filming in Winnipeg, Leduc said he didn’t mention many details.
“We were really too busy talking about the artwork to get into his production,” she said.
“He did say how much he’s loved his time in Winnipeg, and he really wanted to take in all the different things he could do.”
    Men Health interview
In January 2026, Men’s Journal interviewed Jon Hamm about the “Ritz Island” Super Bowl commercial he starred in with Scarlett Johansson and Bowen Yang.

Men’s Journal: What is Jon Hamm watching that everybody else should be checking out?

Jon Hamm: It is very Canadian. And I think you can actually watch it because there’s a show called Shoresy, Jared Keeso’s spinoff of Letterkenny, that I’ve only recently seen it get a little shine in the U.S. And I think it’s only recently caught reflected shine off of the phenomenon that Heated Rivalry has become.
Somebody was writing an article about Heated Rivalry with tips about “if you like hockey shows.” But it’s much more to me than that. What I really like about Shoresy and what I think Jared has done so incredibly well is balancing the really, really funny parts of that show with a tremendous sense of pride of place and heart about not only hockey, but about Northern Ontario and Sudbury specifically. It’s about a guy in the second phase of his life trying to figure out what’s next. And I think for a lot of athletes, especially, that’s a really difficult transition, but he handles it not always the most gracefully, but tremendously hilariously.
And I’ve been a fan of the show since it began. So I think anybody should watch it. You don’t even have to be a hockey fan. I mean, I don’t think a lot of people watching Heated Rivalry are hockey fans. But Shoresy is tremendous television, and hats off to not only Jared and his creative team, but the good people at Crave where it airs. I hope somebody picks it up so you can watch it in the States.

Men’s Journal: When you star in a show as big as Mad Men was, all these years later, is it wild for you to have people coming up to you who may not even necessarily have been born when that show premiered, and they’re talking to you about it? How does that feel?

Jon Hamm: It’s been nice. Some people are finally discovering it for the first time, that younger generation that maybe was too young to watch it or wasn’t around to watch it. It was 20 years ago when the first season came out in 2005. So yeah, it’s bizarre.
It’s also strange, of course, to watch my television daughter, Kiernan Shipka, now starring in the industry. It’s like, time moves in one direction, as Don Draper might say, and we’re all going the same way. But it is nice, especially when it’s something that you can be tremendously proud of.
I’ve obviously made so many friends over the course of that, making that show, not just on the show, but tangentially through the show and people on 30 Rock and SNL and Kimmy Schmidt and the folks I got to meet because of the opportunities that that show provided me, but as well as getting the opportunity to do really, really fun, funny stuff in the creative space and the advertising world too. Playing Don Draper has definitely put me on a lot of creative directors must-have lists, and I’ve been able to carve out a pretty unique and fun place in that world, and this is just another example of that.

The iconic cracker brand just unveiled its 30-second spot online, featuring Hamm alongside Bowen Yang and Scarlett Johansson
Over the years, Bowen, Scarlett and I have built great friendships both on and off set, so getting to work together again was an absolute joy,” Hamm shared exclusively with Parade. “I’ve always found that working with friends brings a unique, collaborative energy to any project, as there’s an ease and trust that makes the whole process feel effortless.”
He continued, “When we all get together, it’s hard not to swap stories — and during the RITZ shoot, we definitely spent some time trading tales from past projects and laughing about all the unexpected moments that come with this kind of work. It’s such a unique bond to share, and I think that connection really came through in the fun we had on set.”

When asked about filming with the Jurrasic Wolrd Rebirth star and the Landman star, Bowen noted that he’s already worked with the two on SNL in 2025.
Sharing insight on making his first Super Bowl ad, he told People, "It was remarkably lovely and easy with people that I already worked with. I looked around, I was flanked by two of the hardest working people in show business."
Bowen Yang felt "very lucky" to make his debut with "my old friends ScarJo and Jojo."
"I was like, 'But wait, I already intimately worked with these people before.’ It’s crazy," he gushed.

creator and executive Jonathan Tropper got tasked with moderating a panel discussion that featured Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Le, Mark Tallman, Aimee Carrero and the buzz worthy new addition to the cast in James Marsden.
Tropper asked his actors how they would characterize season two versus season one, and Hamm went first. “Deeper? Darker? Different? What’s another d-word,” pondered the star and executive producer. “The first season of a show establishes the world, and then the second season expands that world, expands those characters. This, especially with adding a chaos agent in the form of Mr. Marsden, makes it… we already have the rules of the game set up as we’ve established in season one, and in season two, we can just play the game at a higher level.”
Hamm added that Marsden plays a character who “is living life in a very broad and out loud way, and it’s very attractive to want to be a part of that world, but at what cost is the question?”

In a new interview with Empire magazine, Hamm, 54, said he has an “unfathomable” love-hate relationship with The Family Stone.
"Mostly because these are 'required viewing' for the holidays," Jon told Empire in an upcoming interview for the April 2026 print edition, "it would be either Die Hard, or—and this is a weird choice, but we watch it almost every season—The Family Stone."
"I find that movie fascinating," he said of the 2005 film, which also starred Luke Wilson, Dermot Mulroney and Claire Danes. "I think it's an inexplicably weird movie. It's got a rock-solid, jam-packed, stacked cast, but ever
ything I watch it, I think, 'This might be the worst movie I've ever seen in my life

"By the end of it, I kind of like it," he admitted. "It's unfathomable. I guess that's what makes art, that you keep going back to it.

January 2026 - Jon Hamm - news

Mr Hamm will host the 15th NFL Honors awards on Thursday, Feb 5, at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco.
It will air live on NBC and NFL Network at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT and will be available to stream on Peacock and NFL+.

Mr Hamm in a statement said :
Week after week, the NFL delivers performances that remind you why this game means so much to so many. I’m honored to host an evening that celebrates the players, their immense talents and the unforgettable moments that defined this season.
Angela Ellis, NFL Vice President of Original Content and Entertainment said :
We’re thrilled to have Jon Hamm host NFL Honors, as we mark the show’s 15th year. His impressive acting career, passionate football fandom and overall charisma will create an unforgettable night that celebrates the very best of the league, from the performances on the field to the people and stories that define the season.
"I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again — I read the script and thought it was the funniest thing I’ve ever read. And I feel really lucky that I got to work with all of these guys and these two collaborators [Wain and Marino] and Jon Hamm."
I’m a huge fan of Jon. I think he’s just an incredible actor, and I had so much fun working with him. I don’t know how he feels about working with me…
"[Hamm] didn’t tell me anything about it. He told me David Wain was looking to send me a script. I was in Budapest. It was the middle of the night and I was jet-lagged. They sent it and I read it right then and texted them both and said I was in. It was fantastic. It’s hilarious. I got to play myself, sort of."

Marino and Wain have been friends with Hamm for years. He did a cameo in their 2007 film “The Ten,” and appeared on their show “Children’s Hospital” and their “Wet Hot American Summer” streaming series. Still, the men worried about Hamm’s reaction when they sent him the script.
It was definitely a scary thing to share this story that’s basically all about him,” says Wain. “He could have easily been like, ‘No, I’m not cool with this.’ And the same with Slattery. But luckily we sent it to Slattery first and he called up Jon, and was like, ‘We’ve got to do this together!'”

.... raving that he had “the best” experience working with his old scene partner again.
It’s always super fun,” John told E! News’ Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview in Park City, Utah, Jan. 25. “No overt communication necessary.”
He actually called me about this and said, ‘David Wayne wrote a script—he wants to send it to you,’” John continued. “I said, ‘Send it.’ I was in Budapest, it was the middle of the night, I was jetlagged. He sent me the script and I read it at 1 in the morning, then called him back immediately and said, ‘I’m in.’”
have a “similar sense of humor,” John added, “I thought it was as funny as he did, and here we are.”
I’m not looking to do Mad Men again,” John shared. “I’m lucky enough to have had that. It’s fun to see Hamm, and we see each other away from work, so we’re good.”
“We’ve done a bunch of stuff together after [Mad Men],” John explained. “You can’t do everything together. I mean, we have such a good time, but you gotta do other stuff.”

reviews
Deutch’s performance is likably cheery. The film fires off jokes at a rapid clip, but its aim is poor, and as the mirthless one-liners accumulate, it begins to resemble a collection of sketchy incidents in need of additional rewrites.....
More frustrating, by making Hamm the story’s obvious destination, his eventual appearance is too predictable to be amusing......

.... a film without a single serious moment, driven by the sole purpose of making us laugh.
It succeeds in fits and starts – I laughed more than I have at many a comedy in the past year – but its wild, scattershot humour is so hit and miss, too many jokes going nowhere, that it’s not quite the rousing win I wanted it to be........ looks like it was shot with the budget of a mid-awards show sketch, means that there are so many lines or often extended sequences that feel a few drafts away from something far funnier.

Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass” is a flagrant concoction that wants to do nothing more than make you laugh, and at that it succeeds......When Gail finally does hook up with Jon Hamm, he’s the man behind the curtain — a doofy dreamboat who’s only pretending to be Jon Hamm. The whole movie is pretending to be something it’s not. It’s a smartened up homage to dumbing down.

The film overflows with celebrity cameos of both the explainable and absurd variety, but it’s all in service of a greater vision.
All of them are funny, but nobody tops John Slattery, who gives a hysterically self-deprecating performance as a fictional version of his post-“Mad Men” self...
The plot takes quite a few wild digressions on our heroes’ way to meeting Hamm (who also gives an excellent performance as himself).
.... Wain and Marino are still at the absolute top of their game.

Slattery shows some real comic chops here and still has great chemistry with Hamm, who (of course) eventually shows up as the movie’s equivalent to the Wizard—although instead of a trip home, he’s offering Zoey a night of carnal bliss. Hamm has always had a knack for comedy and mocking himself, with the movie’s Hamm being insecure and not too bright as he holes up in the Chateau Marmont.
While Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass isn’t able to keep its momentum going throughout the entire film, more often than not it’s hilarious,...... the fact that this movie actually makes you chuckle is enough to merit an enthusiastic recommendation from me—and Deutch is a delight.

.... Hamm and Slattery have fun sending themselves up and a long line of other familiar faces, including Henry Winkler, Weird Al Jankovic and Richard Kind, show up for a punchline or two – but there’s a nagging suspicion that they are having more fun than the audience.
The quality to quantity ratio of the jokes is lower than it ought to be....
I'm on that d list with Kathy Griffin
