2022 NHL All-Star Skills Competition: Breakaway Challenge

Did Jon Hamm ruin Trevor Zegras's all-star moment ?
With one chance, Trevor Zegras pulled off the spectacular at the NHL all-star skills competition. And yet, a famous actor had to involve himself and ruin it.
.......
JUSTIN CUTHBERT: Well, Jon Hamm. So Jon Hamm is one of the judges. Darren Waller was a judge. I'm not going to be able to rhyme off all of them, but Darren Waller was there. Jon Hamm was there. Mark Messier among the notable ones there, and Jon Hamm was making it about-- he was hamming it up.
He was being Jon Hamm. He was making it about Jon Hamm, and he gave Pietrangelo a 19. He held up a one and a nine. Yeah, one and a nine. I was going to say the ten, but cut off the 10, but one and a nine that was available to him to make it 19 to give him the victory, and he said it was because he helped the St. Louis Blues, who he's a fan of----win the Stanley Cup in 2019. So Jon Hamm ruined an All-Star moment for Trevor Zegras by himself. There were some really good elements of this. We're going to get into Zegras in a second, but there were also little things that kind of took away from what could have been really good. You mentioned the offside review. The games were actually pretty good.
...............
JULIAN MCKENZIE: I never watched "Mad Men", but I've never wanted to root against Jon Hamm so badly. How dare you put yourself into all of this. Also, I get it. We're going off on an All-Star competition that doesn't really matter, but in the interest of having fun and making it a fun event, what are you doing. No. I probably will never see the Alex Pietrangelo attempt, whatever it was.

Jon Hamm finds himself at the center of a hostage crisis in Amazon original podcast drama series “American Hostage,” based on real-life events.
All eight episodes of the podcast are available starting Feb. 22 on Amazon Music (at this link) and the Wondery Plus subscription service. Episodes will be released weekly on other major podcast platforms starting March 8.
Starring alongside Hamm are Carla Gugino, Dylan Baker and Joe Perrino. The series is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Shawn Christensen (“Curfew,” “Blackout”), written by C.D. Carpenter, and executive produced by Gabriel Mason, Hamm and Christensen. Executive producers for Amazon Music and Wondery are Dave Easton, Morgan Jones and Marshall Lewy.
“American Hostage” is set in Indianapolis in 1977. Hamm stars as Fred Heckman, a beloved local radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program. Through Heckman’s radio show, Kiritsis becomes a media sensation and unexpected antihero during a nail-biting 63-hour standoff. “American Hostage” ultimately asks the questions, “Who is the real victim?” and “Is the media helping or hurting the problem?”
“Part of what attracted me to this story was the absolute brazenness of the crime itself, compounded by the slow burn realization that something was terribly wrong,” Hamm said in a statement.
Hamm continued: “The parallels to today’s dissatisfaction on all sides with not being heard, not being understood and somehow being taken advantage of by something bigger than us, are glaring. We apparently still haven’t learned our lessons about the consequences of dismissing people’s outrage.”
“We feel incredibly fortunate and grateful that our first project is with the exceptional and talented Jon Hamm, who stars in a story that is not only powerful, but also asks thought-provoking and timely questions about America, the media and the world today,” Mason and Christensen said in a joint statement.
